eXroid® electrotherapy treatment for haemorrhoids
Say goodbye to piles, quickly and easily.
Over 90% of our patients report a return to their normal activities on the same day.
eXroid takes a personal approach to your haemorrhoid treatment and our expert advisors can help you get the best advice and help you need, so you can be free from piles sooner than you thought.
The eXroid® treatment is suitable for all 4 grades of haemorrhoids, so even if your GP can’t refer you for NHS treatment, you can be treated by eXroid without the need to wait until things get worse.
We offer the lowest risk and effective treatment for haemorrhoids in the UK. Many of our patients report minimal or no discomfort during and after the procedure and there is no need for anaesthetic, cutting, heat or stitching, meaning no time off work. Appointments (including diagnosis & treatment) can take less than an hour, so you can fit your appointment conveniently around your life and in one of our nationwide clinic locations.
How does it work?
The eXroid procedure uses electrotherapy, which has been clinically researched for over 150 years.
It is non-surgical and is carried out in a clinic by a GMC registered consultant. There is no cutting, stitching or heat applied. The low electrical current stimulates a chemical reaction, which seals off the feeding blood vessels, resulting in the haemorrhoid being starved of its blood supply and it shrinks accordingly, with associated symptom reduction.
The effect continues to work to close the vessels for up to 4 weeks. Our aftercare team will be in touch at this point to hear your progress, review your doctor notes and talk to you about the need for any further treatment.

Book directly with eXroid
Booking is quick and easy – you can either book online by clicking through to the eXroid website or call the patient services team on 0800 999 3777.

I’m Colette the founder of Heart 2 Hart Solutions, established to highlight the need for a dedicated trauma service for adults in South Wales. Personal and professional experience of medical trauma has instilled a passion and dedication in me to help those who have been similarly affected, by this, or any other traumatic event. As an integrative, cognitive behavioural and somatic trauma therapist I offer a comprehensive, holistic and compassionate way of working with trauma. Uniquely in South Wales I favor Babette Rothschild’s approach to trauma therapy, having completed a years training with the US trauma specialist in London, and I’m proud to see these methods working so effectively with my private trauma clients.
I have experience in working with medical trauma, living with a primary and secondary cancer diagnosis, grief, bereavement and loss, sudden child bereavement, sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and trauma associated anxiety and depressive symptoms. I also have experience of working within the Cardiff & Vale NHS health board addressing issues of single and complex trauma and PTSD. I am the therapist for the ‘Living with Secondary Breast Cancer’ group for the South Wales division of Breast Cancer Now, and have provided a number of workshops on communication and relationships after a diagnosis, as well as coping with anxiety for those living with primary breast cancer. In January 2019 I introduced a pilot scheme under my ‘Counselling with Cake’ umbrella; educational group therapy for those living with a chronic medical condition, beginning with fibromyalgia. I am currently looking at funding options for further educational group work.
My integrative training means I have knowledge and experience of the models of Psychodynamic, Existential, Person Centred, Somatic and Compassion Focused therapies(CFT), together with those of Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Mindful Based Cognitive therapy (MBCT).
Our work together may include visual and creative techniques, the relationship between our mind and body, cognitive adjustment and ways of relating; to others and to past and present experiences. At all times I offer you empathy and compassion and our work is collaborative, ensuring you have a safe space in which to explore your trauma. This can be challenging as well as liberating, but ultimately helps you gain control back in your life.
I offer a free half hour telephone chat prior to a first appointment for us to decide mutually whether I'm the best person for your needs. All further sessions are an hour in length and priced at £75. The number of sessions required depends entirely on your individual needs, and regular mutual feedback means you can budget accordingly. It is suggested that meetings are weekly or fortnightly. Appointments are booked directly with me, and payment is made to the Consulting Rooms after your appointment.
I am a registered member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), a member of the BACP’s Health Care division and a member of MIND. I have professional indemnity insurance with Towergate, am GDPR compliant, ICO registered, and have a current DBS certificate. I have monthly clinical supervision which is a professional requirement to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained within the client/therapist relationship.
Please feel free to browse through my website at www.heart2hartsolutions.co.uk for more information, and you are welcome to contact me directly with any queries. You may book an appointment on 07903 457245, or e-mail email@example.com.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing your experience.....
Dr Helen McCarthy
Dr McCarthy developed Appetite Retraining which teaches you how to re-learn to tune in to your body’s natural signals for regulating your eating and appetite. You start where you are now and make one change at a time towards eating in tune with whether you’re hungry, and when you are just full. And the mental blocks to getting there are explained, and simple techniques for overcoming those blocks or “saboteurs” are provided.
